Nostalgic Thoughts

Nostalgic Thoughts…

Count the fingers on our feat
Party late and hit the streets
Lose our bodies in the beat
There’s nothing that we can’t defeat

Sneaked away and ran two blocks
Held hands in the sparkling dark
Lying in the grass in parks
We swam right through the milky arc

We dried off in a single towel
Sat there thinking for a while
Future plans; we’ll walk the aisle
Nostalgic thoughts now make us smile

Grow up and lose a sense or two
Forget the things we used to do
Like we were dreaming all the while
Nostalgic thoughts now make us smile

Lead a life of self-deny
Acted cool and didn’t cry
Walked away and said good-bye
Didn’t wait for no reply

Grow up and lose a sense or two
Forget the things we used to do
Like we were dreaming all the while
Nostalgic thoughts now make us smile

Impressive poem! (a bit weak on the rhyme though ;) )
